Fun Vintage Games You Can Now Find Online

Technology is now more advanced than ever. There are so many online games available that it’s hard to know which one to play first. However, even though there are so many brilliant new games on the internet, we often find ourselves missing the classic games that we grew up with.

You may be under the impression that to play vintage games, you need a vintage console or an old board game, but this isn’t always the case. Lots of vintage games have now been adapted to run on more modern technology, such as smartphones and tablets.

This means that we’re now able to enjoy playing vintage console games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, vintage board games like Monopoly, and vintage arcade games like Space Invaders. To help you choose which type of fun vintage game to play first, we’ve come up with a list of some of our favourites

  1. Casino Games There’s a huge selection of casino games available on the internet. Casinos have developed a range of innovative, exciting games for their players, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t consider playing some of the brilliant vintage games that are available. All of these amazing vintage games are now available on the internet:

  • Scratch card games - Most of us remember playing scratch card games when we were growing up. They are exciting, fun, and you can win a lot of money if you’re lucky. Scratch card games were first produced by the Scientific Games Corporation in 1974, and they’ve been popular ever since. There are lots of different types of scratch card games available for you to choose from, depending on your preferences. You could choose one that is based on an iconic movie like Rocky, or you could choose one that is based around a card game like Blackjack. Whichever one you choose, you could have great fun reminiscing whilst playing a scratch card game with the chance of winning lots of money.

  • Blackjack – it doesn’t take long to learn the rules of blackjack, but it can take a long time to work out how to win. The aim of the game is to get as close to 21 as you can, but it's not always as easy as it sounds.

  • Roulette – This vintage game is a game of luck. In this game, you place bets on where a ball will land in a roulette wheel. You could choose to play it safe or go all out to win big money. Whatever you choose to do, this game is a great deal of fun.

  • Poker – there are so many different versions of poker that you won’t get bored with this old classic. Poker can be played in casinos, online, with colleagues, or with friends and family.

  • Craps – craps have been popular since the 17th century. In this game, players have to bet on the outcome of a number of rolls of the dice. This game is really simple to play and a great deal of fun.

2. Board Games

Lots of us remember playing board games when we were children. In the last few years, we’ve seen board games becoming popular once again, but not in the way you may think. Many people are now choosing to play digital versions of their favourite board games online. Not only are they easier to set up, but they also allow you to play with other players from around the world. Some of the most popular vintage board games that have been turned into digital versions include:

  • Monopoly

  • UNO

  • Qwirkle

  • Scrabble

  • And many more!

3. Console Games

Modern video games are amazing. They have lifelike graphics, extensive artificial intelligence, multiplayer modes, and are so much more sophisticated than older games. However, this doesn’t mean that vintage games aren’t as good as the new releases. In fact, some of the best console games came out in the 1990s.

Whether you had a Sega Mega-drive, a PlayStation, or an NES when you were growing up, there were so many amazing games available to you. And the great news is that many of these games have now been adapted so that we can enjoy them once again. Some of the most popular vintage console games include:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog – Sonic has to be one of the most popular vintage games of all time. The aim of this game was to make your way through the colourful levels as fast as possible while collecting as many golden rings as you could. This game can now be enjoyed online on iOS and Android devices.

  • Tetris – almost anyone you speak to will remember this vintage game, and now you can enjoy it once again. This game has been adapted and updated so that we can use it on our mobile devices.

  • Rollercoaster Tycoon – In this amazing game, players were able to build and run their own theme park. You were able to build out-of-this-world rollercoasters, create other fun rides, and could even add ice-cream and burger stalls to your park. This game can now be played online on mobile devices.

  • Crazy Taxi – If you love racing car games, then this could be the perfect choice of vintage game for you to try. Crazy Taxi was initially an arcade game before being released on consoles. This game involved fast driving, booming music, and exciting graphics. What more could you want from an old classic?

There’s something about a vintage game that makes us feel good. Not only can we reminisce about past experiences, but we can also have a huge amount of fun at the same time. There are hundreds of vintage games now available on the internet. Which one do you want to play first?
