He brings a wealth of experience to the position, having spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Co-Lin. Before joining the college staff, Coward led the women’s soccer program at Germantown High School from 2019 to 2022, following two years as head coach for both the men’s and women’s teams at Starkville High School from 2017 to 2019. A graduate of East Mississippi Community College with an associate of arts degree, Coward went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Mississippi State University.
Co-Lin Athletic Director Bryan Nobile praised Coward’s contributions over the past three seasons, noting his success as an assistant coach and expressing confidence in his ability to lead the men’s program. Nobile said he is eager to see Coward build on the foundation that has been in place since the program’s return.
Coward said success for the team will be defined not only by results on the scoreboard but also by personal growth, daily improvement, and the development of a lasting team culture.
