Things that make ya go hmmmm…
By Jessica Breazeale God has eyelids? Psalm 11:4 says in a poetic metaphor that “His eyelids test the sons of men,” and that has me wondering if it’s maybe not a metaphor. What if God really did have eyelids? It’s possible. We are made in the image of God. Is God so astronomically gigantic, and we are super itty-bitty versions of Him? We’ll never know. Things that make ya go hmmm… There are planets and stars known to be “lonely”. The loneliest star is often considered

The Least of Worms is the Greatest of Worms
By Jessica Breazeale A prophetic psalm in Psalm 22:6 is often associated with the crucifixion states: “But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.” I spent most of my life thinking this prophesy of Jesus was merely imagery that gave us a visual of the trauma he would endure. I thought, “maybe this is the lowest creature the psalmist could picture”. This worm is small and looks more like a grub. Dare I say it looks tasty like a berry? HAHA!

DEEP Thoughts
By: Jessica Breazeale The deepest hole on our planet is known as the Kola Borehole in Russia near the Norway border. It was a man-made Soviet drilling experiment to learn drilling depth limits. The Kola Borehole reaches 7.5 miles into the earth. In 1970, Oklahoma held the record for the world’s deepest hole, but the Kola Borehole broke that record in 1979. It’s fascinating to read on this topic and learn more. But why did drilling stop? Drilling in this particular spot st

MYSTERIOUS DEPTHS
By: Jessica Breazeale Somewhere between Hawaii and the Philippines near the small island of Guam, far below the surface of the water, sits the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot in the ocean. It’s 7 miles deep. What’s down there? The Trench sits like a crescent-shaped dent in the floor of the Pacific Ocean, extending over 1500 miles long with an average width around 43 miles and a depth of almost 7 miles (or just under 36,201 feet). Mt. Everest could fit in this spot. At that

I WAS JUDGEMENTAL UNTIL…
By: Jessica Breazeale It all started with a rescue cat from Hattiesburg. She changed my perspective. I’m so glad she did because I was judgmental until she changed me. I was judgmental of people who had indoor pets. I thought, “How people let their pet inside their home was beyond me”. Pets are never clean enough, constantly shedding their filth, bad for asthmatic people, and trigger PTSD with all the barking. Isn’t that just common sense, a nonnegotiable that pets should be

PROUD ROARS
By: Jessica Breazeale Unfortunately, pride shows up in everything we do. We don’t like to admit wrongdoing or the things we aren’t proud of. We don’t like self-reflection. That’s pride. Pride takes a relationship between two and turns it into a relationship of one. Over time, the proud, fierce roar feels like loneliness. How does pride show up in your workplace ? Maybe you have lots of workplace conflicts. Maybe you give the silent-treatment until someone who owes you an ap

ROOTS
By: Jessica Breazeale Have you noticed how many trees are dying? Maybe it’s just in my neck of the woods, but it seems to be an alarming number of trees that are dead - or on the brink of it. We need more sturdy, reliable trees that can withstand nature’s weather and insects. What tree are you ? Are you firm, steady, resolute? Is your tree being eaten alive by beetles and on the brink of falling over dead? Is your tree flopping around because you hadn’t grown very big bef

BAD WEATHER
By: Jessica Breazeale Most people prefer to evacuate a storm if given the opportunity. Who wouldn’t want to skip out on the disaster and the aftermath? It’s too hard…too stressful. I get it. During Hurricane Katrina, I was a student at the University of Southern Mississippi and a Dixie Darling dancer. When the hurricane hit, our football team, band, and student body were scattered and bewildered. Our first game back after the storm, the band didn’t perform on the field, but

WEED KILLIN’
By Jessica Breazeale Looooong before Zacchaeus couldn’t see Jesus, God had already planted the tree to meet that need. You remember the story, don’t you? The song “Zaccheus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he” taught us about the short, dreaded tax collector who climbed the tree to see Jesus coming down the road. It’s not like Zacchaeus randomly decided to climb up the tree, and then the story is over. The story began way before Zacchaeus. God planted that
