Ukraine children assisted

Energizing for the school year

Mississippi School of the Arts (MSA) students, staff and family with support from the wider community, have raised $1,000 to help the children of the Ukraine through Save The Children (STC), which has been active in the country since 2014.

The MSA Beta Club sold lapel pins to show support for the Ukraine. The MSA Diversity Fair also brought in fund. The STC donation was made in honor of MSA Visual Arts student Tatyana Baker from Gloster, Mississippi, who moved to the U.S. from Ukraine in 2019.

Pictured is Baker with her self portrait, which received a Scholastic Arts Silver Key and was on display at The Mississippi Museum of Art.
