The Wesson Mayor and Board of Aldermen held a brief regular meeting Tuesday, October 6, addressing police staffing, municipal improvements, property concerns and routine town business.

The meeting lasted approximately fifteen to twenty minutes. Alderman Mike King was absent.

The Board approved minutes from its September 1 regular meeting and September 15 special called meeting.

During the police department portion of the meeting, the Board approved the hiring of Austin Case as a part-time police officer. No significant developments were reported in the department's monthly report.

The Board also discussed a proposed fence extension near the library. The project is awaiting the award of funding before work can proceed. If funding has not been awarded by October 17, the matter will return to the Board's November agenda for further consideration.

Under general business, Board members received information concerning a proposed remote work policy for municipal employees. The information was provided for review, and no action was taken on the proposed policy.

A memorandum of understanding involving the library remains pending and was not discussed during the meeting.

The Board continued a public hearing concerning a dilapidated property at 1044 Oak Street until its November meeting. A notice is expected to be posted at the property before the matter returns to the Board.

In water department business, the Board approved Bobby Henley's attendance at a water certification class scheduled for October 12–15 in Tupelo.

The Board also unanimously approved a water well and treatment plan. Additional details regarding the plan's scope, cost and implementation were not provided.

The meeting agenda included routine administrative matters, including September claims and departmental compliance reporting.

Several matters remain under review and may return for consideration at future meetings.
