Wesson Butterbeans enjoy day camp

The Wesson Garden Club (WGC) recently hosted a Lanoux Day Camp for their youth gardeners, the Butterbeans, at the Wesson Library. 

Allison Ashmore Potts, Lanoux Youth Chairman for the Garden  Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., educated the children on the planet's limited resources for areas to grow food through an interactive apple dissection activity.

Representatives from Mississippi Department of Transportation presented a dramatic demonstration on roll-over accidents and the importance of wearing your seat belt.

The WGC says they appreciate the support of Shop and Wash, who provided pizza, and the Wesson Library, who allowed the use of their facilities.

WGC is a member of The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and the Natchez Trace District of GCM.
