The Wesson Chamber of Commerce recently hosted an advertising info meeting as an educational opportunity for its members.

The meeting took place at Copiah Bank Wesson at noon on August 29.

Wesson businesses represented at the chamber meeting were Hispanic Heritage Cleaning, Destiny’s Delights, Grace Foam Solutions, Salmon Point Development, Wesson News, and Jessica Breazeale Consulting.

The chamber invited guest Lori Smith of Southwest Broadcasting and Brookhaven Broadcasting to discuss local radio opportunities.

“The information I received was very helpful…for example, to learn how radio ads would help your business become more competitive…” said attendee Clifford Jackson, co-owner of Destiny’s Delights.

Destiny’s Delights will soon open in the new Lone Pine Shopping Complex at the four-way stop on Main Street. Husband and wife owners Clifford and Kita Jackson both attended chamber’s advertising meeting in preparation for their bakery’s grand opening – the date to be later announced as construction is not completed yet.

Chamber members also discussed various newspaper advertising opportunities and digital marketing options. Each attendee received a free gift, a journal and a pen to keep track of marketing and advertising ideas and notes.

“I enjoyed the meeting. There is a multitude of advertising opportunities to expose and market businesses in Wesson,” said Teri Bath, chamber director.

The next chamber function will be Sept. 15 at 11:30 a.m., a luncheon at the American Legion post on Main Street in Wesson. The guest speaker will be Dr. Stephanie Duguid who will also do a book signing for her newly launched book, “Exponentially Elevate Your Leadership Impact”.
