New parents can win a basket of items, a baby quilt and toy and infant-oriented books in the Wesson Public Library (WPL) Books & Babies contest that started April 6 and runs through April 30.

In total, WPL will give away prizes to four winners on Wesson Founder’s Day, May 2.

On each visit to the library through April 30, a baby’s mother or father can sign in as contestants for the prizes with their library cards or register without a card as contest participants.

WPL Library Marilyn Britt says the goal is to bring parents to the library to discover resources they can use for themselves or in caring for their babies.

Friends of the Library (FOL) created the baby basket from business donations of gift certificates and items suitable for infant boys and girls.  Jennifer Peets hand-crocheted the baby quilt and toy, and Beyond the Rainbow and Expectations donated the books that will be presented as prizes.

Parents with babies up to 24 months old can enter the contest.
