Wesson Marching Band Celebrates Landmark All-Superior Performance

Wesson High School’s mighty Cobra marching band received all-superior ratings last month at the state marching festival in Pearl.

Drum Majors Brooke Coleman and Ava Woodson earned a drum major superior rating.

The color guard, coached by Shae Coleman, received an overall superior color guard rating. Color guard captains are seniors Abigail Cameron (Head Captain) and Mackenzie Mire (Co-Captain).

The percussion line received a superior rating under the leadership of Captain Brendon Duguid.

The band as a whole received all superior ratings, with other leaders including Low Brass Captain Tate Brister, High Brass Captain Mady Woodson, and Woodwind Captain Alana Hux. The band is directed by Cody Spurlock and assisted by Andrew Bonner.

This was the first time the band has received all-superior ratings under Spurlock's leadership.
