Clara Barton Calcote of Wesson has completed service as a page for the Mississippi Senate. Pages generally run errands for officials and Senate staff. Barton is pictured with Lieutenant Governor C. Delbert Hosemann Jr., who sponsored her. Barton is the daughter of Bryan and Sonya Calcote and is home-schooled. “ Working as a senate page was a fun experience,” says Barton. “I witnessed the day-to-day workings of our government and learned a lot about our Capitol’s history. I liked running errands for senators because that took me all over our beautiful Capitol. Everyone I encountered was so friendly and made me feel at home. I was so grateful for this opportunity.”
