Beginning November 8, 2021, the Copiah County School District will move from “required” universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to “highly recommended” indoor masking for students and employees.
Universal masking protocols will continue to be required for ALL students on school buses for the duration of their route. Due to the difficulty of social distancing on school buses, masks are required to help prevent transmission as much as possible.
All campuses will continue to utilize the same sanitization efforts employed under the Return to In-Person Learning Plan initially adopted at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
The most-current data showing a steady decline in the percentages of both quarantine and positive cases of COVID-19 within the school district guided this decision.
Additionally, the number of vaccinated individuals continues to increase as well as vaccination offerings for various age groups. We encourage parents to consider MSDH guidance regarding the vaccine. CCSD is also working with the Mississippi State Department of Health to offer onsite COVID Testing to our students and staff. Once finalized, we will be sending out additional information.
The district will continue to monitor COVID data and will adjust accordingly. Although masks are recommended, we may have to make an adjustment in the future.
