How to Become a Singer in a Month

Many of us have dreamed of being a singer from a very young age, but for various reasons, we have never achieved our goal, whether it was to sing professionally or just on an amateur basis in a choir. However, in these modern times with the advancement of singing techniques and technology, it is now possible to become a singer in just 30 days with a little dedication and perseverance. Here we will take a look at the ways to do it.

Take lessons

It may sound obvious, but if you want to become an accomplished singer then you need to learn the basics, and the best way to do that is to hire a private tutor. You can, of course, join a singing group or choir and learn that way, however, you are not going to get the one to one tuition you need and your voice will likely get drowned out in the crowd. Obviously hiring a personal tutor can be expensive and you will be nervous at the start just singing to one person, but if you want to learn to sing in a month, you will quickly improve the range and tone of your voice. Once you become more experienced you can join group lessons or a choir, where you can learn different techniques such as harmonization.

Sing every day

As with anything in life, practice makes perfect, and mastering the art of signing is no different, especially if you want to do so in a month. You need to take on board what your tutor has taught you and use every opportunity of every day to practice in front of the mirror, or indeed anywhere. Make sure you warm-up and stay hydrated otherwise you risk damaging your vocal cords. It also pays dividends to take yourself out of your comfort zone, so why not go to the mall so that you have a small audience. It will help to bring you out of your comfort zone and will breed confidence for your future career. Try to vary where you practice because when your career starts you could be singing in all manner of venues, so the earlier you can get used to singing in extreme places the better.

Online programs

Learning to sing online is a relatively new invention, but if you want to become a singer quickly then it really is a great place to start. There are many benefits to online singing programs from the fact they can take place within the comfort of your own home, allowing you to avoid early embarrassment, to the ease at which you can record your singing allowing you to play it back and analyze any mistakes. Lessons are expensive but if you are often on the road you can learn remotely and you can also schedule an impromptu session if you are feeling nervous before a performance, or you think you need to adjust your technique.

Networking

Once you have learned the basics and feel comfortable in front of a small audience, it is time to really become a singer and that involves getting paid for what you are doing. If you want to achieve this goal within 30 days then you need to know the correct people in the industry and that will involve networking. You could have the most beautiful voice in the world, but if you don’t have the right contacts and knowledge of how to promote yourself, then you are never going to make it. Start by going to visit performers who are better than you, and try and talk to them or their management. It won’t be easy but use every devious trick in the book to get in front of the person that matters. As we all know in life, it is not what you know that matters, but who you know, so use this to your advantage and try and meet as many people as possible.

As we have discovered learning to become a singer in just 30 days is not going to be an easy task, but using these tips it is possible. It is important to polish your voice at the outset by taking lessons. These could be one to one or as part of a group, or even online if you lead a busy life and need as much flexibility as possible. Practicing is then the name of the game so that you are used to all different types of venue and then it is a case of networking until you have a contact book full of industry insiders to help you get that first paying gig. Good luck!
