But by the grace of God.

“People who wonder if the glass is half empty or half full miss the point. The glass is refillable.” – Unknown.

I know my cup has been full, overflowing even, felt half empty and felt as though as though it’s been on the verge of feeling completely empty I’ve been so worn down. But by the grace of God, He’s never let that happen. I may have “felt” that way but praise the Lord that He constantly stands ready to fill our cups when we don’t even have the strength to ask Him to do so. I can promise you, when you get that low, you’re usually not thinking as you should be. He knows our needs before we even realize there is one to be had. He loves us so much that He provides us with His own strength when ours becomes weakened by the weight of the world.

I’m reminded of these lyrics today from the song “Fill My Cup, Lord.” They simply say, “Like the woman at the well, I was seeking for things that could not satisfy. And then I heard my Savior speaking, “Draw from My well that never shall run dry.” Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up Lord; Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more. Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole. There are millions in this world who are seeking, for pleasures earthly goods afford. But none can match the wondrous treasure that I find in Jesus Christ my Lord. So, my brother if the things that this world gives you, leave hungers that won’t pass away. My blessed Lord will come and save you, if you kneel to Him and humbly pray. Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up Lord; Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more. Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.”

Let Him fill your cup with His strength today. Quit trying to handle the weight of this world on your own.
